Used Cooking Oil Recycling
PDM Group is one of the UK’s leading collectors and processors of used cooking oils. PDM Group's Accrington plant has benefitted from investment in the latest automated processing systems and is now the largest recovered vegetable oil processing plant in the UK.
Vegetable oils are collected from a wide variety of catering establishments and food factories before being processed and refined into a range of recovered vegetable oils. The recovered oils are used as feedstocks for a wide variety of applications, including:
- Animal feed fat blending
- Production of biodiesel
- Bio-fuel for renewable energy production at PDM’s Widnes plant
- Bio-fuel for co-firing in coal-fired power stations in place of fossil fuels
PDM has also introduced the "Oilsense" cooking oil management solution; a unique innovative system that provides the kitchen operator with significant health & safety, environmental and cost benefits.
